I figured the SP6 was being throttled so I downloaded Intel Extreme Tuning Utility and observed the performance graphs while running Solidworks. This also appears to effect the Dell XPS 13".Īt first, I attributed this to the Surface Pro 6 being a little weak for CAD, however, it runs perfectly fine on my (now deceased) 2013 13" (i5/8gb ram/256gb) MacBook pro under Bootcamp and Windows 10. Moving/rotating the object also stutters a lot. Solidworks will not crash and will recover from this then allow me to edit the object.

When I attempt to select a Feature or open a Sketch, Solidworks highlights the outline of the object in Orange very slowly and freezes up for about 10-15 seconds causing windows to give a "Solidworks is not responding" dialog. Hi all, I am a student who is trying to run Solidworks 2017 on a brand new Surface Pro 6 (i5/8gb ram/256gb config).
